§ 106-403. Abandoned vehicles prohibited; removal.

  • (a)

    It shall be unlawful to park, place or store vehicles on the public streets within the corporate limits of the city. The presence of such vehicles on the public streets as an abandoned or nonoperating vehicle constitutes a nuisance and a menace to the health and safety of the inhabitants of the city.

    (b)

    The police department, upon receipt of notice of an abandoned vehicle, shall take possession of and remove such vehicle from the public streets to eliminate existing hazards.
